March 24th and 25th is a double/double points weekend where Steel Wheels will be hosting the first Indiana State Race of the 2012 championship season. This is your opportunity to begin the quest for the Indiana State Championship - decided by riders who race 3 qualifier and the final throughout the 2012 State Championship season. Race fees for the SCR are $25 Class or Cruiser $5.00 for Opens and Class & Cruiser discounted prices of $45.00 (Sorry - no Daddy Cruiser rate for this weekend) Awards to ALL IN MAIN!!! On Sunday - we will be holding the Annual Bob Warnike Scholarship Race. Race fees for this race are $20.00 Class or Cruiser and $5.00 for open - proceeds from this race go to the scholarship program offered by USABMX. Its double points all the way and your chance to contribute to a scholarship program that is for BMX riders! Race registration for BOTH days are 11-1 CST. "Dexter" Pritchard - Master Wheel Builder and the best bicycle wrench guy around is giving a free bike maintenance clinic to any and all who want to learn the basics of keeping their bikes running smooth. Two weeks until the double/triple race event at Steel Wheels! Saturday registration is 11-1 CST; Sunday registration is 9-11 CST. You can presign for racing at the track on Thursday the 3rd and Friday the 4th. Saturday's race is our annual Race for Life - fundraiser for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of America... it is also our OLD GUNS SHOOTOUT! A 35 + flat pedals only open for all you old guns out there! (this is the first race of a four race series!!!) No USABMX membership is required for the RFL /Old Guns race (but you must race class in order to race Old Guns) $20 class or cruiser...$5.00 for Open or Old Guns . Redline Cup Qualifier is Sunday...your chance to get a score on the board the Redline 1 ! There will be a bike raffle, 50/50, great concessions, team purse (Sunday only....) pro-am and great awards! District Points are now final! Please check your standings and change your number plate to reflect your NEW standing.... if your are racing at Steel Wheels... your new numbers need to be on your bike by January 31st. Please remember that district numbers are to be displayed with 3 inch black numbers on a WHITE background. Numbers and plates are available for purchase in the pro shop. Please be sure to let sign-ups know what number is on your plate each and every time you race in order to be scored correctly. Its our regular schedule this weekend at the track... Thursday racing with sign-ups from 5:30-60pm; Friday practice 6-10pm; and Saturday racing with sign-ups from 5-6:30pm. RACE FOR LIFE envelopes are now available at the track for our February 4th Race For Life... start collecting for some cool prizes ... one of which being a year of FREE single points races for being the top track fundraiser! All donations over $500 are in the running for the Free Race package - rider with the greatest donations over $500 wins a year of single points races that can be used at either the indoor or outdoor track! New Years Race at Steel Wheels 12/29/2011
Come ring in the New Year with us at Steel Wheels BMX!!! As has been the tradition for the last 10 years, Steel Wheels Indoor will be dropping the gate at midnight for the first race of the year. And, in keeping with tradition, we will be having a pot luck meal before the race. So, cook up your best dish and share with the whole crew. Festivities begin at 9:30. Race Registration is from 9:30 - 11pm on New Years Eve. We'll count things down and drop the gate at the stroke of midnight. Oh, and we forgot to mention....
